2024: Year in Review

2024 was the seventh year of Lyrical Host, and it was most definitely known as Year of the Workshops. Throughout the year we ran eleven different online workshops for Lyrical Host customers (in addition to several in-person events). We interviewed some fantastic people, produced tons of supplementary content and templates, and covered everything from making good decisions based on your Google Analytics data to the psychology of search engine optimization. Whew!

Over in our customer Facebook group, we hired customers to share their knowledge on a wide range of different topics too, from Pinterest to mental health.

2024 saw us reach active customers in 65 different countries across the world! We’re especially appreciating seeing growth in South America as it was very rare we had customers anywhere there in the first few years of the company.

Easter saw the return of our much beloved chatbot, Bunnybot, who was hopping around as usual asking people to find his missing eggs. We always run a bunch of contests throughout the year, but Bunnybot is the favorite (although asking people to share their tiny moments of happiness was a heartwarming close second!).

In addition to Lyrical Host, we also run a coworking and content studios space, The Createry. Lyrical Host customer and award-winning photographer Nathan Walker ran two of his wedding workshops at The Createry in 2024, and we also ran our own business workshops in-person too!

In June we took the team to Turin for WordCamp Europe. It was a fun way to explore more aspects of the WordPress ecosystem and hear from WordPress enthusiasts from a wide range of different countries. We especially enjoyed the talks on accessibility, which inspired us to run an accessibility workshop with the help of some of our screen-reader customers. We also had a chance to explore the city and even saw Captain America’s shield in person since it was on tour at a movie-themed museum.

In the summer we also launched The Happy Blog Project, after noticing that a lot of people were missing just blogging for fun. We created groups of readers and writers all happy to support each other in blogging like the old days!

Product-and-service-wise, we added email backups as standard to all plans, so that customers can restore mistakenly deleted emails from the past 30 days, and restore database backups from a full 60 days. 2024 also saw more digital products available, with a limited edition Black Friday bundle plus a huge (and very affordable!) stock photo bundle thanks to our brilliant photographer Alison Edwards.

Here on the blog we published a bunch of different posts to help you on your blogging or business journey; if you missed anything, we covered:

And then we wrapped up the year with a festive team meal, gifts, and lots of plans for 2025!
